Dominus

The Dominus has become a reference point among audiophiles. Since its introduction in the mid-90s, Dominus continues to evolve and challenge the industry. Its conductors, metallurgy, and insulation are top of the line! They have a beautifully rich and detailed sound that brings out the music like you have never heard it before!

Analog Interconnects

Balanced XLR

Dominus analog interconnects are painstakingly hand-crafted and are the gold standard (save for the 35th Anniversary) of Purist Audio Design's cables in luxury and sound! They are fashioned using 20 AWG alloy and surrounded by Purist Audio Design's proprietary Ferox® dampening material. Analog interconnects come in a stereo pair, one left cable and one right cable. They are available with Purist’s gold RCA terminations or XLR terminations. Available lengths start at 1.0 M (3.3 Ft.) and increase by 0.5 M (1.6 Ft.) lengths. The 35th Anniversary analog interconnects are directional, and the arrows indicate the direction of the signal.

Speaker Cables & Jumpers

Dominus Speaker

Dominus speaker cables are painstakingly hand-crafted and are the gold standard (save for the 35th Anniversary) of Purist Audio Design's cables in luxury and sound! They are fashioned using multi-conductor alloys. The conductors are surrounded by Purist Audio Design's proprietary Ferox® dampening material. The Dominus speaker cables can be ordered in a standard speaker or bi-wire configuration. They come in a stereo pair with four cables in the set. The left channel has a separate positive cable indicated by a read lead and a separate negative cable indicated by a black lead. The right channel has a separate positive cable indicated by a read lead and a separate negative cable indicated by a black lead. The speaker cables are available with Purist Audio Design’s interchangeable spades or bananas. They can be changed out, easily, by unscrewing one and screwing on the desired tip. The Dominus comes with both spade and banana tips. Available lengths start at 1.5 M (4.9 Ft.) and increase by 0.5 M (1.6 Ft.) lengths. In addition to the length, the Dominus speaker cables have 15 CM (5.9”) leads on both the amp and speaker ends for easier connection.

Dominus Jumpers are also available in 20 CM (7.9") lengths with spades or bananas.

Digital Interconnects

Dominus Dig RCA

Dominus digital interconnects are painstakingly hand-crafted and are the gold standard (save for the 35th Anniversary) of Purist Audio Design's cables in luxury and sound! They are fashioned using pure copper continuous cast and surrounded by Purist Audio Design's proprietary Ferox® dampening material. Digital interconnects are offered in SPDIF 75 Ohm (Purist’s gold RCA or BNC) and AES/EBU 110 Ohm (3-pole gold XLR). Available lengths start at 1.0 M (3.3 Ft.) and increase by 0.5 M (1.6 Ft.) lengths. The Dominus digital interconnects are directional, and the arrows indicate the direction of the signal.

Power Cables

Dominus AC

Dominus power cables are painstakingly hand-crafted and are the gold standard (save for the 35th Anniversary) of Purist Audio Design's cables in luxury and sound! The cable is fashioned with pure copper continuous cast and surrounded by Purist Audio Design’s proprietary Contego® dampening material. The Dominus power cables are available with Furutech’s Rhodium NCF plugs and connectors in US and Schuko styles with 15A. If a 20A connector is needed, a Furutech Carbon Fiber Rhodium connector is available. The available lengths start at 1.0 M (3.3 Ft.) and increase by 0.5 M (1.6 Ft.) lengths. For ease of use and hook up, there is an additional 20 CM (7.9 in.) flex lead on each end of the cable.

What They're SAying

With a full suite of Dominus on my digital front-end, the very full body from top to bottom of the frequency range was retained; the really superb blending and integration that PAD wires are noted for was enhanced. And, somewhat surprisingly, the softness was dealt with. Image borders were more firm and explicit—no more soft shoulders—and the treble was less rounded. On top of that, the textures I was looking for were recovered.
Just warmed in the new Dominus XLRs, these are going from my preamp to my new JL Audio CR-1 active crossover...and they're replacing the temporary pair of RCA 2.5m Vestas cables, as the new set up allows balanced now...everything is settling in and this is my set up...my dream system.

(Took a lot of work, getting the timing correct with the subs and satellites, adding the active crossover, and setting correct phase and levels. The damping control is there to dial in the final dimension.)

As always, the addition of another Dominus is nothing short of unexpected magic and "slap your mama" good sounds.

I have to thank you for adding extra few inches!...they are just perfect ...the perfect amount of slack, (almost like a motorcycle chain up and down), and it gave me room to put the components "dead center" in the middle of each rack...I am just so happy and content.

What the New Dominus did is nothing short of amazing...

...that central image of vocals and back up singers is dead on...and just allows the vocalist to express things I've never heard, breath and soul.

You have captured lightening in a bottle.
The all-silver Dominus is very detailed, very dynamic, very rich. Less open than Nordost Valhalla and darker in balance, it is also quieter, and because of its fluid-damped construction, virtually immune to floorborne and airborne vibration.
Your Dominus power cord is FANTASTIC. It brought my amplifier alive.

The entire sound stage was elevated up and back and the dimension of the smallest details were made clear especially in fast and complicated passages.

But beyond this was a speed and separation of the music that really changed my perception of pieces of music I thought I knew. Incredible. Finally, solo piano the way it really sounds with the separation I was also trying so hard to hear yet, there it was!

I have T+A components, SACD and their R series amp bi-wired to my B&W 702 S2s. I have 2 degrees in music and have a trained ear.

After seeing an interview with your founder on YouTube I knew that he makes no compromises. I can hear the proof.

Thanks so much,
"...this power cable is silky smooth and a pleasure to listen to. There’s an increased sense of realism and effortlessness across all genres. There’s always something so addictive about all of Purist Audio Design’s cables. Supremely musical, grainless, harmonic, and balanced. Female vocals are so sweet and seductive, drums and bass are very well defined and tight, and great extension in the highs without ever being fatiguing or sibilant. There are zero signs of edginess across the entire spectrum. Most importantly, timbre and tone are on point accompanied with a natural sense of air, dynamics, and body. Piano and violins sound majestic and percussions and brass have convincing air and dynamics.

"Overall the Dominus AC cord provides a musicality that is undeniably easy and enjoyable to listen to. I could go on listening for hours, forget about the critical evaluation, and just be enjoying the music."
...very well deserved! …the Dominus justified its name by clarifying the sound of the Impulse amps at once, removing the sense of constriction and the lack of dynamics, and then improving slowly over the next several weeks.
The Dominus Diamond Revision is "...high end extreme"!
